So much can happen for the Warriors in their last two regular-season games.
If the Warriors win Friday night against the Kings, it would give them some space to see how the rest of the teams play out. There's a chance that Golden State could keep the sixth seed, but that would only happen if the Lakers lose Friday to a Suns team not playing Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul or Deandre Ayton, and the Clippers actually go for a win Saturday against a Trail Blazers team that's been eliminated from playoff contention for a week now.
There's a world in which the wins and losses align just right — where the Warriors win Friday, the Lakers and Pelicans lose Friday, and the Clippers win Saturday — so that Sunday's regular-season finale becomes expendable for the Dubs. If that happens, the Warriors could tank Sunday's game to boost their chances at the first-round matchup with the Kings, because the divisional-record tiebreaker would keep the Clippers above them.
