A new video for The Witcher season 3 claims it will be more faithful to the beloved book series by Andrzej Sapkowski. The latest season of Netflix's fantasy adaptation is based largely on the second book in The Witcher saga titled Time of Contempt and finds the Continent converging on Ciri while Geralt and Yennefer try to keep her from being captured.

Watch the video below: The video sees showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich explain how season 3 is "mostly based on the Time of Contempt," which features fun and epic stories in addition to many fan-favorite moments. Executive producer Tomek Baginksi also promises that this season is "very, very close to the book" after several divisive changes over the course of the first two seasons.
How The Witcher Season 3 Will Be More Faithful To The Books After the first two seasons of The Witcher caused controversy for straying from its source material, the show tried to be more faithful to the books with season 3. While it won't bring Cavill back, who committed to the show under the condition that it "honor Sapkowski's work," the new creative direction could win back the approval of audiences.
