School leaders and first responders are being credited with saving Heather Freligh's life at Freiler School in Tracy where the eighth grader stopped breathing and suffered a heart attack Friday.

"It was pretty clear right away that we had a very serious situation on our hands," said Art Freiler School Principal Stephen Theall. "In a lot of ways students here are like my children." "I have a 13-year-old son so it kind of hit home a little bit," he said. "We needed to do something ASAP." "She is a fierce young lady and a fighter," Ferligh said. "There is no doubt in our mind that it was a miracle."
