The store is slated to open in December.
Smart & Final Extra! is slated to open a new location at 430 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose in December 2022. The Bay Area is set to gain a new Smart & Final Extra! next month.
In a press release shared with SFGATE, the Los Angeles-based grocery chain announced plans to debut a new storefront at 430 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose with an anticipated opening date of Dec. 14. The new grocery chain would become San Jose’s fifth Smart & Final outpost. “We’re thrilled to expand Smart & Final’s presence in San Jose with the new location on Blossom Hill Road,” Carlos Santa Cruz, general manager of the new Smart & Final, said in a statement shared with SFGATE. “The new Smart & Final in San Jose will offer the community the quality and selection of a grocery warehouse store in a smaller and faster setting.”
Unlike regular Smart & Final stores, Smart & Final Extra! locations are a combination of standard grocery products and warehouse bulk items for businesses and large companies. Cruz said the forthcoming Blossom Hill Road store will have more than 3,000 bulk items available, which will be available without a membership.
