The actress really wants to go on her first solo trip but that will have to wait for now.

“I'm going to turn 62 in October this year, but I’ve never travelled solo before. I wanted to leave my husband and kids aside, and travel alone to a place that I’m familiar with, for example, Taiwan or China. To be frank, I wouldn’t dare to walk around as I please when I’m alone. And [people in] these two places speak the language that I’m familiar with so you can say they are the most ideal destinations,” Xiang Yun shared.“Edmund's the type who likes to go out as a family.

“In the end, after the kids bailed on their Japan holiday, when Edmund heard that I was planning to go to Taiwan, he kept saying that he wanted to come along too,” Xiang Yun revealed. And so, her dream of a solo trip was dashed.Xiang Yun shared that she managed to get in contact with Xiao Zhou, the tour guide who originally showed her around Taiwan 18 years ago.

He even added that if he were to stay in Taiwan for a month, he’d probably be able to write a really great book. When asked if she plans to meet up with former Mediacorp colleagues who are based in Taiwan this trip, Xiang Yun revealed that she will not be doing so.
