Lauri asked if Norris could log on and check out her profile to see if she had written “anything weird.”While trying to log on, Norris discovered that in order to view her friend’s profile, she needed to have an actual profile of her own. “I was NOT a place to put my real self out there,” says Norris.
She had an idea for an experiment of sorts on OKCupid which she took to her friend Bob Ladewig. They set up rules so they wouldn’t hurt people and got some friends to do a photo shoot. They created “undateable” personalities and posted them across the country tracking the results. So does she have any good dating tips? “Be yourself. Your unique, specific, freaky self!,” she advises. “In my own life, I was always trying to be perfect and guess what other people want. When I started just saying what I truly love and geek out on, I found the perfect person.”The unique/absurd profiles. I was so tickled that people were playing along with them. “Pioneerinabox” is a woman who works as a historical re-enactment actor and never breaks character.
