DALLAS — With time dwindling and Stanford trailing, Cardinal leading scorer Spencer Jones had to make a play to extend Sunday’s game against No. 7 Texas at the American Airlines Center. So the 6-foot-7 senior put his head down, chugged toward the rim and elevated for a layup.
“I’ve got a great staff behind me,” Terry said. “It’s not a one-man show with this. We got an experienced group of guys that I enjoy working with. We’re playing hard and working hard right now.” Allen and sixth man Sir’Jabari Rice did most of the heavy lifting in the first half. That duo scored 10 points apiece on a combined 8-of-11 shooting while the rest of the Longhorns totaled 11 points on 5 of 16.
