.tonesandimusic has a U.K. chart record in her sights
The Aussie singer and songwriter, who was discovered busking on the streets of Byron Bay just two years ago, is off to another hot start on the Official U.K. Singles Chart. “Before You Go” on this week's Official Chart First Look, based on weekend sales and streaming data.
If “Dance Monkey,” hangs in there when the weekly chart is published this Friday, it’ll equal the longest reign by a female solo artist on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, a mark set at 10 weeks by both “Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and Rihanna featuring Jay-Z “Umbrella.” Tones scooped four ARIA Awards last week in Australia, where her hit single has ruled the national chart for an all-time record 18 weeks, and counting.
