The popular action director spent a decade making Transformers movies for Paramount after helping launch the franchise in 2007. The continued success of the movies made it nearly impossible for the studio and filmmaker to agree to stop collaborating.
Michael Bay Added A Heavy Military Presence To Transformers One of the biggest changes that came to Transformers once Michael Bay joined the movie was adding a major military presence. In the audio commentary track for the first movie, Bay stated that he felt the original draft of the script was "too kiddy," leading him to request a bigger role for the military characters. The end result was making Lennox and Epps two of the main characters in the story.
