Trevor Bauer, who served the longest suspension under MLB's domestic violence policy, hasn't pitched in the big leagues since June 2021 with the L.A. Dodgers. He has agreed to terms on a one-year, $4 million deal with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars.

Bauer, 32, last pitched in the big leagues on June 28, 2021. Three days later MLB placed him on administrative leave after a San Diego woman accused him of sexual abuse. Bauer denied the accusation, saying the sex was consensual.

MLB kept him on administrative leave until April 22, 2022 when it suspended him for two years following a 10-month investigation. The Washington Post reported that MLB interviewed two Ohio women that accused Bauer of similar abuse when he played for Cleveland and Cincinnati. Bauer, who denied all accusations, was never charged with a crime.

Cleveland acquired Bauer from Arizona after he debuted with the Diamondbacks in 2012. He pitched for Cleveland from 2013 until he was traded to the Reds at the deadline in 2019.Bauer’s best season in Cleveland was 2017 when he went 17-9 with a 4.19 ERA in 28 games, including 27 starts. He struck out 196 and walked 60 in 176 1/3 innings.
