WASHINGTON - US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller acted honourably in conducting the Russia investigation but complained about a"false narrative" and people who have done unspecified"treasonous" things.

"We're glad it's over. It's 100 per cent the way it should have been," Trump told reporters at the White House."I wish it could have gone a lot sooner, a lot quicker. There are a lot of people out there that have done some very, very evil things, very bad things, I would say treasonous things against our country.

"Hopefully ... people who have done such harm to our country ... those people will certainly be looked at," Trump said, citing people he said have lied to Congress. Trump did not elaborate or mention names but suggested his criticism was connected to those involved in the special counsel investigation that ended last week with no finding of criminal collusion between his 2016 campaign and Russia.Asked if he thought Mueller acted honourably, Trump told reporters at the White House"yes."
