The Greater Katherine region in the NT has gone into another snap lockdown after authorities confirmed two COVID-19 cases.

A fully vaccinated 43-year-old Aboriginal man in Katherine East tested positive for COVID-19, along with a household contact. The household contact is the first case recorded in a remote community. The 30-year-old unvaccinated Aboriginal woman tested positive for COVID-19 in the remote community of Robinson River.Health officials believe the 43-year-old man has been infectious since 10 November.
Mr Gunner said a testing and vaccination blitz will be conducted by a "rapid assessment team" to further boost vaccination rates in the Robinson River community."It's not the scenario we wanted, but we knew the day would come."
