SINGAPORE - A motorised boat carrying two foreigners was speeding towards the northern coast of Singapore near Punggol, attempting to gain unlawful entry into the country.

This drama, which lasted for about a minute, played out on Monday at around 7.40pm, that ended with the arrest of both men for entering Singapore unlawfully under the Immigration Act. The police said preliminary investigations revealed the Malaysian boatman had picked up the Bangladeshi from the shoreline of Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The police said the two men will be charged in court on Wednesday with illegal entry into Singapore under Section 6 of the Immigration Act.
