Jeremy Heglar, 16, and Antonie Moss Jr., 19, both died after what Columbus police are calling a drug deal turned into a gun battle.
Officers were first called around 8:50 p.m. to the 900 block of Rarig Avenue and East 11th Avenue, on the city's East Side, for a reported shooting and found a crashed vehicle.
According to Franklin County Municipal Court records, a 16-year-old girl who was also in the vehicle but was uninjured, and other witnesses gave information to officers that led to 18-year-old Cayon Drake, of the Northeast Side, being arrested and charged with murder. Drake and Moss walked behind Heglar's vehicle, getting into the back seat. As the deal progressed, Moss and Drake both pulled firearms and shot Heglar.
