The incident has taken place in the Talerddig area of Powys, Wales with all services between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth cancelled.
A collision involving two trains in the Talerddig area of Powys, Wales, this evening has resulted in significant travel disruptions. As a result of the crash, Transport for Wales announced that all services between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth have been suspended.
Although there are unconfirmed reports on social media suggesting "mostly minor injuries" with a train conductor and driver sustaining more serious injuries that are said to not be life-threatening, official confirmation from the emergency services is pending. A spokesperson for British Transport Police provided a statement: "Officers were called to the line near Llanbrynmair at 7.29pm today to reports of a low-speed train collision involving two trains. Paramedics, fire and rescue, and Dyfed Powys Police are all in attendance and the incident is ongoing."
