TYPHOON 'Hanna' continues to dump heavy rain particularly in extreme Northern Luzon as it enhances the southwest monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Signal No. 1 remains hoisted in Batanes and the northern portion of Babuyan Islands including Calayan Islands.The typhoon may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility either Sunday evening or early Monday morning.'It has slightly intensified as it moves closer to the coast of Southern Taiwan,' weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said.
Moving westward at 20 kilometers per hour , the typhoon's center was estimated some 215 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes while packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph.The enhanced southwest monsoon will bring occasional to monsoon rains in the western portion of Luzon and Antique in the next three days.
