Futures little changed with all eyes on the consumer price index for March, which will be released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics at 8:30am Eastern Time.
U.S. stock futures were barely changed early Wednesday as traders kept their powder dry ahead of inflation data.
How are stock-index futures trading On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA rose 98 points, or 0.29%, to 33685, the S&P 500 SPX declined 0 points, or 0%, to 4109, and the Nasdaq Composite COMP dropped 52 points, or 0.43%, to 12032. “A dose of caution has been injected into financial markets as investors brace for the latest reading on U.S. inflation…Investors are keen to see more evidence that hot prices are losing steam, but are still worried that the CPI numbers out later will indicate that the cooling process is proving slow going,” said Susannah Streeter, head of money and markets at Hargreaves Lansdown.
