The Dow industrials ended lower after rising more than 900 points earlier in the session
Stocks edged lower Tuesday after a volatile afternoon trading session that erased dramatic early-morning gains, as investors tried to make sense of fast-changing coronavirus news.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 26 points, or 0.1%, after rising more than 930 points earlier in the session. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite also declined, losing 0.2% and 0.3%, respectively.
