U.S. stocks opened lower on Wednesday after geopolitical tensions between long-time adversaries India and Pakistan escalated.
The conflict between the two nations regards the hotly contested region of Kashmir that borders both countries, and put a damper on global stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.10% opened the session down 0.3% at 25,992, the S&P 500 SPX, -0.07% fell 0.2% to 2,787 and the Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.06% began the session down 0.3% at 7,526.
