UK Work and Pensions Secretary Amber Rudd resigns
LONDON - Britain’s Work and Pensions Secretary Amber Rudd resigned from the government and ruling Conservative Party on Saturday , saying she could not stand by while loyal party members were expelled.
The expelled members included the grandson of Britain’s wartime leader Winston Churchill and two former finance ministers. “I cannot stand by as good, loyal moderate Conservatives are expelled. I have spoken to the PM and my association chairman to explain,” she added.
