SYDNEY - A United States military aircraft crashed during drills in Australia’s Northern Territory on Sunday with around 20 people on board, according to local media.

“At this critical early stage, our focus is on the incident response and ensuring the safety of those involved,” the department said in a statement. It added that there were no reports of fatalities although one person was in critical condition and two were stable. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the incident “tragic” and said that his government was focused on providing support, said Reuters.
