Jacinta Allan has declared she supports the “strongest possible action” to stamp out the “rotten culture” inside the CFMEU’s construction edition, but the Victorian Premier has stopped short of supporting calls for a Royal Commission.

Jacinta Allan has said she supports the"strongest possible action" to combat the CFMEU 's alleged misconduct, but the Victoria n Premier refused to commit to calling a Royal Commission into the rogue union during an interview on Melbourne radio on Friday.

Asked about the rogue union during a radio interview on Friday morning, Premier Allan said she had “zero tolerance” for the behaviour of the CFEMU. “Tom, we're focused on looking at how we need to strengthen what we can do here in Victoria,” Premier Allan said. “Those tradies aren't the bad guys here. We've got to focus on what work does need to be done, and that's why we're supporting the work of the Commonwealth and taking our own action.”

“But also… doing our own work to look at what we need to take stronger action – bringing in stronger anti-biking laws into the parliament in the coming weeks.
