The Bananas, who play another group of players dubbed the Party Animals, took off as their popularity spread across the internet when they started playing their unique brand of baseball two summers ago. They play baseball sort of like the Harlem Globetrotters play basketball. The Bananas, who had, routinely are hits on social media with choreographed dance routines before pitches, unique celebrations and even a 10-foot-9 first baseman on stilts.
They do play by the majority of baseball’s rules, except they liven things up by setting a two-hour time limit and banning all the boring parts of baseball, including: Bunts, walks, mound visits and stepping out of the batter’s box.
