The Huskies shut down Texas’ once-vaunted rushing attack in the Alamo Bowl.

With Robinson, and to a slightly lesser degree Johnson, there was a sense that every game was winnable, every situation navigable, even if that didn’t always end up the case.
No one resented them for prioritizing their health and future, but the Longhorns sure felt their absence against No. 12 Washington. The Huskies took advantage of those absences, shutting down Texas’ once-vaunted rushing attack in a 27-20 win in front of 62,730 fans. When Ewers flipped a nifty play-action screen pass to Brooks for a 34-yard touchdown on the opening drive of the second half, Texas was right back in it. And the Texas-heavy crowd was alive again, though their collective ruckus didn’t seem to rattle the Huskies.
