Amari Cooper caught a touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson that went off the helmet of Cardinals defensive tackle Dante Stills.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Browns quarterback threw a pass off a defender’s helmet for the second week in a row. But unlike in Seattle where it turned into a game-changing interception, the ball fell into the hands of Amari Cooper for a touchdown.
Deshaun Watson’s 11-yard pass hit the helmet of Cardinals defensive lineman Dante Stills, ricocheting into the air and Cooper read the flight of the ball, got into the end zone and caught it for the score.Hey Cavs: More 3-pointers? It’s Watson’s fifth touchdown pass and his first since his last full game in Week 3 vs. the Titans. That was also to Cooper on a 43-yard completion in the fourth quarter. Watson has started the game 8-for-11 passing for 113 yards and a score. The throw was also the only throw of the touchdown drive, which went 11 plays. Watson rushed twice on that drive for nine yards.
A week ago in Seattle, P.J. Walker’s late pass intended for Cooper hit the helmet of Seahawks safety Jamal Adams and landed in the hands of Julian Love for the game-changing interception.
