Police lights are seen in this file photo.The driver of a suspected stolen vehicle was fatally shot by Weatherford police in Parker CountyAbout 8 a.m., officers were called to York Avenue after reports of a person driving a stolen car from Georgia, according to the Weatherford Police Department. The driver’s identity was not released.at the intersection of Ric Williamson Memorial Highway and Mineral Wells Highway.
The driver then got out of the car and opened fire on officers and state troopers, who assisted with the chase, according to police. Weatherford officers returned fire, striking the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.The Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting. No additional information was immediately available.
