Williams invoked the phrase “Come on down” as she spoke about Harwick, who died after an ex-boyfriend allegedly attacked her and caused her to fall from a third-story balcony (via toofab)
Harwick had previously taken out a restraining order against her ex Pursehouse, but it had since expired. Authorities reportedly found evidence of a struggle and Pursehouse was later arrested and booked for murder in connection with Harwick's death. He is being held on $2 million bail.
Carey and Harwick were briefly engaged in 2018 after a year of dating. "Amie and I had a love that people are lucky to have once in a lifetime. She was a positive force in the world, a tireless and unapologetic champion for women, and passionate about her work as a therapist," Drew said in a statement received byHe continued, "I am overcome with grief.
Fans, though, absolutely lit up social media at what they perceived as incredible insensitivity on the part of Williams, who just a few days ago was apologizing for making disparaging comments about the LGBTQ+ community.
