Whale Ate 88 Pounds Of Plastic Before Washing Up Dead In Philippines.
A whale that washed up dead on the shores of the Philippines last week had a staggering 88 pounds of plastic inside its stomach before succumbing to starvation and dehydration.
“It had been vomiting blood before it died,” he said, learning during the necropsy that the cause of death was not natural. Cetaceans, Blatchley explained, don’t drink water directly from the ocean but take it from the food they consume. Therefore, the cause of death was a lack of both food and water.
