Delta DAL held an investor day Monday and Tuesday in which it raised its guidance for the year and backed 2024 goals, with Chief Executive Ed Bastian praising “demand tailwinds.” Airline analysts and industry experts often say that summer thunderstorms, which can strike fast and in unpredictable ways, are more of an operational nightmare for air carriers than other, more predictable weather events such as winter storms.“The third quarter is going to be a pretty good quarter across the board,” said George Ferguson, airline and aerospace analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence.
