Australians gather to mark Remembrance Day in cities and towns across the country

This year's national service at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra is once again being conducted alongside construction efforts on the $500 million expansion of the building. Earlier today, an image of red poppies — symbolising the occasion — was projected onto the Sydney Opera House as a service was held on the banks of the harbour.
