The Rings of Power takes place thousands of years before the events of The Lord of The Rings, so yes this is a prequel. Amazon is following a time in Middle-earth, known as the Second Age. We will follow the journey of elven warrior Galadriel , played by Welsh actress Morfydd Clark, as she leaves Valinor for Middle-earth to find her purpose.The series is led by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.
