This is the second line of duty death in Whatcom County Fire District 7′s 105-year history.
According to the fire district, Chief Crosswhite spent 28 years in the fire service, joining Whatcom County District 7 in 1995.
Before that, Chief Crosswhite worked as a Resident Firefighter at Washington State University, as well as working for Kitsap County Fire District 7 and volunteering at the Blaine Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Luciana, son Spencer, stepdaughters Kylie and Brianna, and stepsons, Nick and Anthony.
