Once considered offseason darlings, the Colts are closer to entering full-blown crisis mode than they are to meeting pre-season expectations.was abysmal in Week 2. Ryan finished 16-of-30 for 195 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and three interceptions. Ryan has completed just 60% of his passing attempts through two contests with one touchdown and four interceptions. The Colts are scoring 10 points per game, which ranks dead last in the league.
The Colts spent the entire offseason preparing to avenge an embarrassing Week 18 defeat against those same Jaguars last season that cost them a playoff appearance. It was their main motivation behind swapping Wentz for Ryan. Those efforts were spearheaded by owner Jim Irsay, who was at the forefront of the beg-for-forgiveness tour.
Ballard deserves criticism. Ballard has often escaped media scrutiny for incomprehensible reasons despite his Colts trotting out their fifth starting quarterback in as many seasons in 2022 . The Andrew Luck excuse has expired. Ballard has hand-selected three different starting quarterbacks while competing in a weak division, one they haven’t topped since 2014, which precedes both Ballard and Reich . Just one of those acquisitions worked out in the Colts’ favor .
