Stroud, who many viewed as the second-best quarterback in this draft.
“I’d say his toughness, his competitiveness, his leadership, his accuracy,” Caserio said, when asked what he liked most about Stroud. “There are some things he’s going to have to work on. Seeing things he’s probably never seen defensively. … But C.J. has a lot of qualities we like.” Teams with franchise quarterbacks win the majority of Super Bowls. Look back at the past 10 winners. Nine of the 10 were led by quarterbacks who are considered among the best in the league. The only team that won without one was the Eagles in 2017, who were led by backup Nick Foles. Franchise quarterbacks give their teams a chance.
