All of the money raised goes to Wish Book nonprofits who provide much-needed services and support to people who are struggling this year.

After years living homeless, Rose Barajas was finally able to provide her daughter Rose a home in San Jose, Calif. The two were photographed Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2022, in their their one-bedroom apartment that was secured through PATH, a non-profit dedicated to finding homes for the unhoused. Mercury News Wish Book readers are again responding generously to the annual effort to help their neighbors in need whose stories are being told in print and online this holiday season.

Through Monday, readers have donated $448,397 to Wish Book nonprofits who provide much-needed services and support to people who are struggling. You still have an opportunity to make their lives better and to boost the programs that help them. Any donation — big or small — can make a difference. While the stories are running through the end of the year, donations are welcomed year-round.wishbook.mercurynews.com.
