Rosemary Martinez-Ortiz called 911 to report her daughter-in-law's truck was stolen in Houston, but they were unhappy with the response time, according to investigators.

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas -- A woman falsely reported a family member as kidnapped to get authorities to respond to her stolen vehicle more quickly, according to Liberty County deputies.

Immediately, deputies in north Houston were instructed to work the case directly. Radio communications were shut down to find the woman believed to be in danger, deputies say.
