A woman was hit in the chest during a shooting on the northeast side of Houston.
A woman was injured early Monday when she was shot while walking down the street in northeast Houston, police said.
Investigators don’t believe the woman was the intended target, and could have been a victim of a drive-by shooting or a stray bullet from another passerby, Lt. J.P. Horelica, of the Houston Police Department, told On Scene reporters. Officers around 12:25 a.m. got a call about a shooting in the 11600 block of Homestead Road, Horelica said. They arrived and found a woman with a gunshot wound to the chest.The woman told police she’d been walking along the street when she was shot, Horelica said. She hadn’t heard gunfire beforehand.
