Woman killed, another severely injured in ATV wreck in north Houston, sheriff's office says
Friday night resulted in a woman dying and another woman being taken by Life Flight to a local hospital with severe injuries.
The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Havard, Harris County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Steven Jumbo said. According to the preliminary investigation, the two women in the ATV were traveling west at a high rate of speed when they attempted to take a curb, causing them to lose control and fly off the four-wheeler.The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman was killed, and another was severely injured, Friday night in an ATV accident in north Houston.Investigators are still inspecting the ATV to determine if it had proper lighting, according to Jumbo.
"Just like motorcycles, you have limited protective equipment," Jumbo said about ATVs."If you do ride these sorts of vehicles, I would suggest wearing a helmet like you would a motorcycle."
