Sugar Land city officials recently marked completion of a $1.9 million project to improve drainage in Sugar Land’s flood-prone Greatwood Village subdivision through replacement of storm sewer pipe and other measures.Work has been completed on a $1.9 million project to improve drainage in Sugar Land’s flood-prone Greatwood Village subdivision through replacement of storm sewer pipe and other measures.was part of four general obligation bond propositions totaling $90.
“The top three priorities of our residents are drainage, public safety, and mobility,” said City Councilwoman Carol McCutcheon, who cut the ribbon for completion of the project on Jan. 31. “Completion of this drainage project addressed a critical need identified by our residents. It also demonstrated our commitment to deliver on our promise to protect our community.
Repair or replacement of any pavement and street curbs damaged during installation of the storm sewer system;Removal of existing pipe and manholes from the replaced storm sewer lines.
