Various labor groups and trade union centers on Monday called for an end to contractualization anew.
The Kilusang Mayo Uno, NAGKAISA! and Paggawa lamented how the workers long demand for an end to contractualization have fallen on deaf ears.
“Three years into his term as president and no such change has come: wages remain low, working conditions remain inhumane, and contractualization remains rampant,” the groups said. “His veto message on the SOT Bill contained his marching orders for DOLE and the Philippine Congress: remove all restrictions to management’s desire for contractual labor!” read their statement.
