Bobi, the world's oldest dog in history, recently celebrated his 31st birthday, according to Guinness World Records.
To celebrate the occasion, Bobi’s family is planning a traditional Portuguese birthday party Saturday at his home in rural southern Portugal.that more than 100 people are expected to attend the party and a dance troupe will perform at the celebration as well.
Costa said Bobi has been enjoying the limelight after Guinness officially crowned him the title of the “world’s oldest dog” in February. “We’ve had a lot of journalists and people come from all over the world to take a picture with Bobi,” he said in the release. Costa added that Bobi recently received a check-up due to concerns about the stress of so many visitors, but despite Bobi’s age, the dog is in good health. However, he has had difficulty walking and has experienced diminishing eyesight over the years.
Bobi is a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo, a Portuguese-breed dog whose job it is to guide livestock, according to his owner.
