XFL unveils San Antonio Brahmas identity, logo ahead of 2023 season
San Antonio’s XFL team will charge into the rebooted league on a black and yellow bull, riding the moniker of “San Antonio Brahmas” into the 2023 season.
“San Antonio will be super happy about it,” Ward said. “They’re going to rock all of the paraphernalia and get super excited about our team. It’s a perfect fit, and it represents San Antonio and the state of Texas. So, I’m super excited.” “Horns always positioned forward,” Johnson wrote on Instagram after the tattoo was completed in 2017. “Not up, but forward – representing forward progress and always at the ready to dig in and dig deep.”
Though not used by any major professional sports franchises, the Brahmas name is familiar to San Antonio, serving as the mascot for MacArthur High. Two teams have recycled names and similar logos to the 2020 season, with the Orlando Guardians and Las Vegas Vipers taking the place of the New York Guardians and Tampa Bay Vipers.
