His days start before sunrise, managing his wet market stall at MacPherson Market and Food Centre before opening his hawker stall at Circuit Road Hawker Centre. The menu features signature dishes like crab bee hoon, chilli crab, and steamed fish, all prepared with meticulous care.
Huang, who joined the then-Singapore Broadcasting Corporation in 1985, left acting in 2008 but has faced personal challenges, including legal issues in recent years. Despite these setbacks, he remains optimistic about his new venture, driven by his passion for cooking and seafood. The stall has gained popularity, attracting both curious diners and former colleagues from the entertainment industry.
However, the increased demand has also brought challenges, particularly in managing manpower and adjusting the menu to meet customer preferences.
