JUST IN: 111 new COVID cases in Singapore, 25 unlinked
Among the cases are seven cases above the age of 70 who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and are at risk of serious illness. Also detected were five imported infections, of whom three were detected upon arrival here, while two developed the illness during their stay-home notice or isolation period.
There are currently 83 active COVID-19 clusters here, including the largest at Jurong Fishery Port, now linked to 1,045 cases, followed by the cluster linked to various KTVs, which has 251 cases.At least 62,733 cases in Singapore, or over 99 per cent of the overall total, have fully recovered from their infection and have been discharged from the hospital.There are currently 35 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation and eight in critical condition in the intensive care unit . Four among the 43 cases are fully vaccinated – three requires oxygen supplementation while one requires ICU care as they have underlying medical conditions, said the MOH. Among them are also 29 seniors above the age of 60, of whom 26 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, have fallen very ill, it added., 15 others who tested positive for the virus were determined to have died from unrelated causes, including three whose deaths were attributed to a heart attack and another four whose deaths were attributed to coronary heart disease. Over the last 28 days, 55 local cases required oxygen supplementation, were admitted to the ICU, or died. Of them, 33 are unvaccinated, 18 are partially vaccinated and four are fully vaccinated.As of Saturday, about 7.58 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered under the national vaccination programme. Some 4.3 million have received at least one dose of the vaccine, with 3.39 million having completed the full vaccination regimen. This means that 61 per cent of the population have completed their full regimen, or received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme, and 77 per cent have received at least one dose.. As of Saturday, 104,061 doses of the China-made vaccine have been administered to 74,121 individuals.
