A veteran Buffalo Grove village trustee is stepping down this month and the village president is already set to name his replacement, tapping a former commissioner to fill the vacancy.
Smith has already made a decision on who he will look to appoint to fill the vacancy, and the Village Board is expected to vote on the appointment at an Oct. 2 special meeting.The release states that Smith wants to appoint Denice Bocek to fill the vacant trustee position. She would fill the remainder of Pike’s term and would then have to run to be elected to the seat.
