Following a 1-2 loss to Singapore in the ASEAN championship, the Football Federation of Cambodia launched an investigation to address 'unusual' incidents during the match. The federation assured honest players and officials that they had nothing to worry about regarding their integrity. However, they did not specify the nature of the incident or the individuals under investigation. The comments came after two goalkeeper errors by Dara Vireak contributed to Singapore's goals.
"To all the officials and players who are honest and uninvolved, there is nothing to worry about with their integrity," said the Football Federation of Cambodia .
In a Facebook post on Saturday , it said that this was"in light of the incident that occurred and appears to be unusual for the previous matches". This followed a meeting between the association president, Sao Sokha, and officials and the Cambodian national team. In the ninth minute, a miscue from Dara Vireak following a back pass saw him direct the ball to Faris Ramli who tucked home.
