Thursday will bring hot and dry conditions coupled with low air quality to the metro Denver area, according to the National Weather Service.
An air quality alert from the National Weather Service is in place for Thursday for Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, western Arapahoe, western Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties. Ozone concentrations considered to be unhealthy are the primary reason for the alert. People are advised to refrain from prolonged outdoor activities, especially those with respiratory issues like asthma.
Although Thursday has no rain in the forecast, northeast and north central Colorado are expected to get some precipitation. The weather service has issued a hazardous weather alert for the possibility of flooding.Temperatures will drop to an overnight low of 66 with mild breezes. Friday brings a slim chance of rain for the first time this week with a 10% chance after noon. Friday’s high will reach 96 and will be otherwise sunny.
