A 62-year-old man living alone in Tampines was found dead by a friend after his family had not heard from him for three days. The man, a stroke survivor, was known for his daily morning greetings and had left his door unlocked for easy access. Neighbors and family expressed sadness and shared fond memories of him.
A 62-year-old elderly man , a stroke survivor who lived alone in Block 499C Tampines Avenue 9, was found dead in his home on Sunday morning (Nov 24) by a friend. The man had not sent his usual morning greetings to his family for three consecutive days, which caused concern among his loved ones. His family had been worried after three days of silence from him, as he had left his door unlocked to make it easier for others to check on him.
The friend who discovered the body immediately called the police. Neighbors described the deceased as kind and described how he would greet them daily and even buy food for their children. In response to a query from AsiaOne, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) stated that they responded to a call for assistance at 12.40pm on Sunday
