This was decided through the incredibly scientific method of an ESPN poll that ran during an “NBA Countdown” segment featuring the two marquee stars of the Warriors-Lakers series.
“LeBron James. Stephen Curry. The two most influential basketball players since Michael Jordan. Together, they’ve helped elevate and reshape the NBA in the 21st century,” the segment began. To avoid burying the lede, Curry defeated James in the debate over “Who is more likable?” Curry had 54% of the popularity vote, while James mustered 46%. Yes, despite the best efforts of notable Warriors doubters, the people still enjoy Wardell over LeBron.
