A Malaysian woman has claimed she was nearly kidnapped near a mall in Johor Bahru, but local police say they haven't received any reports. Ho said she was approached by a man and woman selling products when the woman allegedly grabbed her handbag and claimed she was his wife. Ho said she fought back and was pushed to the ground, injuring her head. Police are investigating the incident.
A Malaysian woman named Ho, who recently claimed to have been nearly kidnapped near a mall in Johor Bahru , stated that she filed a police report. However, local police have asserted that they have not received any such report. Ho recounted her experience, saying she was shopping alone near KSL City Mall when a man and woman approached her, attempting to sell their products. According to Ho, the woman offered her a container filled with 'tea leaves,' asking her to smell them.
She alleged that while the man held onto her, the woman grabbed her handbag and declared that Ho was his wife, dragging her towards a car. Ho vehemently protested, insisting she was not his wife and didn't even know him. Ho claimed the duo then pushed her to the ground, causing her head injury, leading to a three-day hospitalization. She said she smelled something akin to an anesthetic while recovering, which left her feeling weak and dizzy. Ho urged viewers to be aware of their surroundings, even in crowded areas, and to avoid accepting anything from strangers. She emphasized the importance of vigilance, stating that without passersby who came to her aid, she might not have returned home to her child. In a statement on Tuesday (Jan 21), Johor Bahru Selatan police chief Raub Selamat confirmed they had not received any reports related to Ho's claims. He stated that they are actively working to identify the individuals involved, the witnesses, and the true cause of the incident. He also requested the public not to share the video on social media to prevent misunderstandings and speculation that could disrupt societal harmony.Separately, another incident involving a possible 'hypnotist gang' occurred at Resorts World Genting. Fandy Kan shared her experience on Xiaohongshu, describing how a woman with a child approached her father. The woman reportedly smelled faintly of jasmine and requested Kan's father buy some dough fritters for her child, to which he surprisingly agreed. This was concerning to Kan, as she knew her father was usually frugal and wouldn't readily comply with such requests from strangers. Kan's father seemed to be under some sort of trance, only 'suddenly sobering up' when she tapped him on the shoulder and pulled him away. In response to Kan's post, Resorts World Genting stated that they would investigate the incident.
